Williams Architects led the renovation of this serene Eastlake single shotgun located on the edge of the historic Vieux Carré. The property includes the main shotgun building, two accessory structures (guest house and utility), and an elegant courtyard. The firms’ creative expertise was deployed to discover opportunities for incorporating more usable space, specifically the new second floor addition to the guest house. The exterior stairs and courtyard landscaping were designed to match the vibrance of the main shotgun and create an oasis from the street, and required careful coordination with local carpentry and masonry professionals to achieve the final vision.
